“Caroline really encouraged me to be myself and valued my contribution. She has a friendly smile and a calming manner, which really helps to bring out the best in you. She is a great trainer!”

About Caroline Hounsell

I’m an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and a strong advocate of the Person Centred approach to mental health. I work to develop an understanding of how each individual views their world and use this perspective as the foundation for progress.

I have experience as a carer and a person who has used services. At the beginning of my career I counselled and worked extensively with emotionally vulnerable young people within the Connexions service.

I’m now an Independent Consultant qualified to train trainers and individuals in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Youth Mental Health First Aid and the Race Equality Cultural Awareness Programme (RECAP), and to train individuals in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and SafeTALK (Suicide Alertness For Everyone)and MHFA Lite.

I also design and deliver bespoke training in equalities and life management, run a private Person Centred Psychotherapy practice and provide supervision services to help busy individuals organise their professional lives.

By working in a holistic and integrative way with my clients, I combine different approaches to respond to individual circumstances. I believe wholly in keeping the individual at the heart of the process.

I exchange co-mentoring with my fellow professionals to maintain the highest level of service for clients and to stay at the forefront of developments within theory and research.
